By A. E. Colas, Contributing Writer, March 7, 2018

Asia Week is actually a ten-day event with 10 museums and cultural centers, 45 galleries from around the world, and 5 auction houses opening their doors to display a stunning variety of art across several countries and centuries from March 15 – 24, 2018.

Jared FitzGerald: ‘City Life’ (2013); porcelain panel; 69 ¾ x 112 inches; KAI Gallery (New York, NY).

This year’s selections include contemporary lacquer by Yoshio Okada and washi screens by Kyoko Ibe (Erik Thomsen Gallery), Huang I-Ming: New Ink (M. Sutherland Fine Arts Ltd.), selected works of Indian and Himalayan art (Kapoor Galleries), and Korean contemporary paintings and decorative traditional arts (Kang Collection Korean Art). Many of these galleries aren’t regularly open to the public so this is a wonderful opportunity to see museum quality pieces in an intimate setting. As always, all participants are held to the highest standards of scholarship and provenance regarding items for sale and viewing.
